Meet The Rev. Eva Ortez

The Rev. Eva Ortez was born in Honduras and grew up in Miami, FL. She was raised and formed by her spiritual community at Santa Cruz Resurrection Episcopal Church. Eva received her bachelor's degree in International & Global Studies and French from Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee. She moved to Boston in 2018 to join Episcopal Service Corps-Life Together. There she began her work with the MANNA (Many Angels Needed Now and Always) Community, a community with and for unhoused people in downtown Boston.

She spent 5 wonderful years with this community as part of the pastoral care team and began formally discerning her call to the priesthood. Eva attended Boston University School of Theology with a focus on Community and Global Engagement. Eva arrived at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in October 2023 and was ordained a priest in January 2024. In her free time Eva loves to enjoy a cafecito and spend time with loved ones.
